Mother at Seven: Raw, Gut-Wrenching Memoir Empowers Victims of Abuse to Rise as Fearless, Boundless Victor

Written from the harrowing, abusive early life of Veronika Gasparyan, ‘Mother at Seven’ takes readers to Sochi, Russia, as the author prepares to jump out of her family’s apartment window to stop the sadistic abuse at the hands of her family. Thankfully, Gasparyan chose to live and fight against her aggressors, emerging as a formidable woman who came of age as a renowned musician and writer. This is her story, in its bold, frank and uninhibited truth. It’s a powerful read, inspiring one critic to recently write, “An intense fast read that you will not be able to put down”.

Overview: At the tender age of just seven, when most children should be basking in their childhood and the innocence of youth, Veronika Gasparyan stood in the fifth-floor window of her Sochi apartment, preparing to jump.

It was the only ending Gasparyan could imagine to a life story marred by sadistic abuse at the hands of an uncle; abuse that involved ritualistic beatings while Gasparyan attempted to embrace her role as primary caregiver to a new-born in the family. In short, there was nothing left to live for.

Miraculously, Gasparyan lives today to tell her story. In her shocking memoir, ‘Mother at Seven: The Shocking True Story of an Armenian Girl’s Stolen Childhood and Her Family’s Unspeakable, Cruel Betrayal’, her early life plays out like a sick and twisted movie – one readers will never forget.

Synopsis:

Mother at Seven is the shocking, inspirational true story of a little girl’s tragic childhood, and how she endured and overcame a decade of unspeakable abuse at the hands of her cruel and sadistic family. Set in Sochi, Russia, near the banks of the majestic Black Sea, Mother at Seven tells of those critical moments in a child’s life when the only thing standing between the life and death itself was a pure and innocent belief that better days lie ahead. It teaches that by fighting through hardship and pain, miracles can still happen, and that life can still be amazing as long as hope is never lost.

“Only as an adult can I look back and recognize how remarkable it was for a child at seven to be able to find strength in the face of such fierce adversity,” explains the author. “This story is a true life-changer for everyone, demonstrating the power of unconditional love and positive thinking. It saved me from my nightmares.”

Continuing, “This is a story for anyone who likes deeply-personal memoirs, as well as those looking to find their own strength at a time of need. With me facing such a unique situation, I also hope the book can be used in educational circles to open up a much-needed discussion into the power of hope and faith.”

Initial reviews have been extremely positive. For example, one reader comments, “What an amazing story, I could not put the book down. I went through every form of emotion throughout the book. Knowing Veronika now I can't believe this is the path she had to take as a child. She is a strong wonderful woman and this book truly shows how strong she really is. I can’t wait for the next book to finish where this ended!”

Dot adds, “This is story is absolutely amazing. The courage and strength this young girl had is astounding. All the mental and physical abuse and torture she endured and yet she had and still has a wonderful and caring heart for those less fortunate. This story really makes me stop and realize how very lucky I am to have the wonderful loving family that surrounds me. You are a true survivor.”

About the Author:

Veronika Gasparyan was born in the beautiful city of Sochi, Russia in 1981 and is a proud descendant of many generations of Armenian ancestors on both sides of her family. Today she lives in Smithfield, Rhode Island with her two sons. From a very young age, Veronika enjoyed playing piano which resulted in her attending a music school for ten years, and eventually, the prestigious Sochi College of Arts and Music.

Other than the music, Veronika has always displayed a profound love of reading, and at a very young age, read dozens of books from her grandfather’s vast, personal library. She considers herself to be a true survivor of what many would call a traumatic and brutal childhood, but has still found a way to not lose her kindness, patience or hope for better days. Veronika is a strong believer in laws of attraction and positive thinking and is working on other books that she hopes will provide emotional support to those who are in need -- those who have given-up or have already lost their hope for better days and a joyful life.
