Jim Rohn said that. You guys know Jim Rohn right? Highly successful entrepreneur, author, motivational speaker Jim Rohn?
Yeah you know who I mean...
...but did you know that Rohn actually made millions and then lost them all? Only to rebuild his fortune again. It’s true.
Rohn began his career as stock clerk for Sears, but after attending a lecture given by entrepreneur John Earl Shoaff, he changed his mind about what he wanted to do.
He asked Shoaff to be his mentor and followed every bit of his advice.
Rohn became a direct marketing distributor. Within just six years, he earned his first fortune, then lost the millions he had made.
Can you imagine what that must have been like to make millions and then lose them all? Rohn must have felt like a total failure.
Maybe you can relate? Have you ever won big and then somehow managed to screw it up?
Jim Rohn sure had and when he was asked about it he said...
”Whether you win or whether you earn a million dollars, best you quickly learn how to be a millionaire, or you will lose it."
I think what he was trying to say was that he figured out how to make a bunch of money but he had no idea how to take care of it.
Rohn was quick to make that money back though in just a few short years. About this quick recovery he said...
"The second time I made a fortune was much easier than the first time, because I knew how to."
Makes sense right? The guy had already done it once. I guess it was just like riding a bicycle.
