I'm not sure if this is helpful to you, but I asked if there was any way they could lower the cost for brand-new bloggers - especially for people who only want to start with one simple site. And they actually did. You can now start a blog and pay for 12 months of hosting for around $34 total, which is quite a bit less than it was before. For anyone who's been on the fence because of cost, this makes starting a blog much more affordable.
