| | | Hello, | Starting April 2019, Google will release new versions of the Mobile Ads SDK (7.44 for iOS and 17.5.0 for Android), which will change data collection and offer you new controls, as explained below. | What's changing? | In an effort to help you better measure and provide insight into your app experience, Google will be enhancing the SDKs to collect additional user metrics, including daily active users (DAU), user engagement, and retention. The data collected will be used to provide you with new reporting functionality, generate actionable insights, and improve Google's ad serving overall. Data will be collected automatically but will not be further processed for reporting or ad serving unless you decide to enable user metrics functionality in the AdMob front end. All data will be governed by the terms applicable to your AdMob account. | What action do I need to take? | The SDK will begin sending events at app start. You may need to take action before sending data to Google. For example, if you have users in the European Economic Area (EEA), please take the opportunity to review your EU consent implementation, the Google EU User Consent Policy and the corresponding Mobile Ads SDK developer docs. | We will be providing SDK functionality to allow you to delay sending events (Android, iOS) until you initialize the SDK. | How can I learn more? | You can learn more about user metrics by referring to the AdMob Help Center. | | | | | | | | | Yours sincerely, | The Google AdMob Team | | | | | | | | | | | | You have received this mandatory email service announcement to update you about important changes to your AdMob account. | |
